In this keynote session, Chris will share their deeply personal journey of mental health recovery, highlighting the transformative power of counselling. Chris will recount experiences with redundancy, suicidality, and the search for the right therapist, and will demonstrate how therapy has been a crucial lifeline in navigating life’s darkest moments.
This session aims to provide therapists with insights into the lived experiences of clients who may face similar challenges and to illustrate how counselling can change lives. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological impacts as a Black man. The complexities of finding effective therapy, and the coping mechanisms that can support sustained mental wellbeing.
