This page outlines the temporary accreditation mechanisms and eligibility criteria that will be in place from February 2024 to January 2026 to enable Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ members to move between membership categories during the transition period.
During this period members will be able to move between our membership categories, aligned to the standards of the SCoPEd framework columns, where they wish to and have the relevant skills, knowledge, training, and experience to do so.Ìý

Registered member to accredited member (column A to B)

Looking ahead to 2026
Following the SCoPEd transition period, which is expected to finish in early 2026, all our membership category entry requirements will be fully aligned to the standards of the SCoPEd framework columns.
New accreditation routes to move between membership categories will be available at this point. These routes will consider training and CPD alongside other existing skills and experience. More details will be published in due course.

Registered member to accredited member (column A to B)Ìý
To apply for accreditation during the transition period you’ll need to submit evidence that you meet all our training, supervised practice, supervision and reflective practice requirements by completing our application form. You’ll need to provide details including:
- your current way of working
- case material of your practice
- a Supervisor’s statement

There will be no change to the application fee – it will remain as £230, but there is financial support available for eligible members.

Accredited member to senior accredited member (column B to C)Ìý
To apply for our senior accreditation during the transition period you’ll need to meet our revised senior accredited member eligibility requirements and complete our application form.
You’ll need to provide details including:Ìý
- evidence you have a Level 7 or equivalent counselling and/or psychotherapy qualificationÌý
- evidence of personal therapy or personal development work you have engaged in that has contributed to self-awareness and is applicable to therapeutic practiceÌý
- a personal statement giving evidence against a range of criteria that reflect the different competences within the SCoPEd framework, andÌý
- a Supervisor’s statementÌý

The application fee will be £230, but ³Ù³ó±ð°ù±ð’s financial support available for eligible members.Ìý
If you’re a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ senior accredited member and also a UKCP or BCP member aligned to column C please contact our customer services team for more information about the process for you to move to our revised senior accredited membership category, if you wish to. Ìý
