1. If I don’t want to be allocated a SCoPEd framework column can I opt out and will there be a separate register?Ìý
As Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ has adopted the SCoPEd framework, we’ve agreed with partners to align our membership categories to the standards of the SCoPEd columns. So you won’t be able to opt out of being aligned to a SCoPEd framework column and there will be no separate register.
However, you can choose whether to refer to your competences and practice standards as being aligned to the relevant SCoPEd column. If you wish, you can also pursue different membership categories via accreditation schemes, as was the case previously.
2. Do I have to advertise my SCoPEd framework column?
It’s your choice whether to mention SCoPEd within your advertising. If you do wish to, please see below for guidance:
Student, individual and retired members: are not represented in the SCoPEd framework as the framework represents qualified therapists who have joined our register. So, you shouldn’t describe your competences and practice standards as being aligned to the SCoPEd framework within your advertising materials.
Registered members: are aligned to column A in the SCoPEd framework. As a Registered member, you can refer to your competences and practice standards as being aligned to column A within your advertising materials. You can practise competences in other SCoPEd framework columns providing you have the right skills, knowledge, training and experience to do so, but you’re unable to advertise that you’re aligned to SCoPEd columns B or C.
Accredited members: are aligned to column B in the SCoPEd framework. As an accredited member, you can refer to your competences and practice standards as being aligned to column B within your advertising materials. You can practise competences from column C of the SCoPEd framework provided you have the right skills, knowledge, training and experience to do so, but you’re unable to advertise that you’re aligned to column C of the SCoPEd framework.
Senior accredited membersÌýwho have achieved this status prior to January 2024: are aligned to column B in the SCoPEd framework. This is because our previous senior accreditation scheme doesn’t align with column C competences and practice standards.
As a senior accredited member, who has achieved this status prior to January 2024, you can refer to your competences and practice standards as being aligned to column B of the SCoPEd framework within your advertising materials.
Senior accredited members who have achieved this status from February 2024 onwards: are aligned to column C in the SCoPEd framework and you can refer to your competences and practice standards as being aligned to column C of the SCoPEd framework within your advertising materials.
OurÌýpromoting your membership (advertising) policyÌýhas been amended to reflect this.
3. Will I need a new logo or will membership badges and logos stay the same?
Membership category badges and logos remain the same but we’re introducing new logos for members who hold a specialist accreditation for CYP or Supervision. These are available via membership dashboards.
If you successfully apply for individual accreditation or senior accreditation during the transition period, you’ll be able to download your new logo from your membership dashboard.
4. Is there specific wording I must or can use if I wish to advertise my SCoPEd framework column on my website or in other promotional materials?
Yes, our promoting your membership webpage provides guidance on how to refer to your membership being aligned to a specific SCoPEd column.
5. If I’m aligned to another SCoPEd column with another partner can I mention that in my advertising materials?
If you have membership with another SCoPEd partner and you’re aligned to a different column of the SCoPEd framework with them, you can reference that within your advertising materials. You must however ensure that you reference that alongside that partners’ membership category, not Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¾«×¼×ÊÁÏ’s.
